The Dairy, Gleno

The Dairy has retained the spirit of the 1930s business and you will find tangible evidence of the past in the furnishings and artefacts inside. The tables in the café are made of old beams from Gleno dairy, and an impressive internal design feature gives new life to windows from the old building. Look out also for the unique seat made from the conveyor belt at the dairy and the old weighing scales.

Once a fully functioning creamery and dairy established back in 1933 The Dairy has been a prominent part of the community in Gleno throughout the years, having served several different functions in its time.

You will also find that the original principles of the old dairy still apply; provision of local products, employing local people, meticulous attention to cleanliness, and providing the best service possible.  In keeping with how the original dairy had its unique products, the modern farm shop, café and butchers have bespoke products including its very own Dairy coffee brand, supplied by Wild Heart Coffee Roasters and specially made for Gleno.

With the freshest locally sourced ingredients throughout their premises – from the meat products made by hand in-store to the pastries baked onsite, the artisanal products stocked from local sellers and the food served in the café The Dairy prides itself on being Northern Irish.

Fully Licensed, why not accompany your favourite The Dairy meal with a glass of one of their carefully curated selection of wines or maybe you fancy trying some of the local draft beers? Perhaps a cocktail? With the launch of the brand new pop-up ‘Taste of Home’ events The Dairy will be serving up comfort foods from our childhoods with a little The Dairy twist! With live music, these will take place on the last Saturday of every month (please confirm this using the business page and website links before planning your visit).
