Carnfunnock Country Park
Carnfunnock Country Park is an incredible place to visit nestled in a sheltered section of the infamous Antrim Coast Road. A top rated family tourist attraction with a wide range of activities and attractions suitable for all ages and abilities. The park has 191 hectares of mixed woodland, colourful gardens, walking trails and spectacular coastline, with panoramic views of the Antrim Coast and Scotland. The park is located a few miles north of Larne and can be easily found on the world famous Antrim Coast road.
At Carnfunnock Family Fun zone, you can ride along with the kids on the miniature railway, try out the bungee run, partake on a 18 hole game of Mini Golf, have fun in the Walk on Water Balls, jump around on the bouncy castle, play with the Remote Control Trucks/Boats or chill out on the Carousel. There is also a children’s activity centre with snack stop, outdoor games including putting, table tennis, giant chess and draughts; face painting and glitter tattoos.
The historic walled garden with its unique sundials and wooden sculptures is open all year round along with a maritime themed outdoor adventure playground, golf driving range, way-marked walks, orienteering course, geocaching, public toilets and picnic sites. Original estate features also remain including the ice house and lime kilns. There’s also a hidden Norman Motte – Droagh Motte – at the rear of the park.
You can stay overnight at the 5-star touring caravan park and campsite. You can also enjoy barbecue areas and a modern visitor centre with a gift shop and coffee shop.

Carnfunnock also has a comprehensive and varied annual programme of events which includes falconry, face painting, art activities, snake handling, bug hunting and seeing wildlife up close including foxes, hedgehogs, bat walks and farm animals. Many events are themed to take account of special times with Easter events launching the season and Halloween events concluding. Band concerts take place most Sundays from June to August. You can book the Carnfunnock Nature Adventure Trail, Carnfunnock Bird Walk or Dawn Chorus with Dot.
The Country Park is open daily:
Spring / Summer 9am – dusk (9pm July – August) and Autumn / Winter 9am – 4.30pm (Closed Christmas Day)

Carnfunnock Country Park is situated on the famous Antrim Coast Road (A2), 3.5 miles north of Larne town and Larne Harbour and just over 20 miles from Belfast.
Translink provides a regular bus service along the Coast Road (A2). The nearest bus stop is located just outside the entrance to the Park. For timetable information please contact Translink – T: 028 9066 6630. Service 162 (all year): Larne to Cushendun. Service 252 (seasonal): Belfast to Coleraine.
