Drains Bay Beach

Drains Bay is a quiet village situated 6km North of Larne along the Antrim Coast Road.

A lovely place for a stroll, or a family picnic with several picnic benches situated along the grassy bank beside the sandy beach (which is level and suitable for a wheelchair).

With a sizeable car park directly opposite the beach which regularly hosts Scrubs Grub chip van and Tru Gelato ice cream van for refreshments, particularly during the warmer spring and summer months.

Nearby is a small children’s play park in an enclosed space alongside a fantastic grassy area to run and play. Heading up past the play park is a 1km walk into Carnfunnock Country Park with Parklands Café, many activities for all ages and abilities and scenic walks.

Opposite the entrance to Cairndhu Golf Club, you will find The Wrens Egg – sitting on the shore, a glaciel boulder of enormous weight.
