Stop and visit the beautiful Larne Community Garden on the way past, which is supported and looked after by Larne Area Community Support Group volunteers along with the fantastic food saving project Larne Community Fridge which you can pop into and take surplus food on offer on the opening days, Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Larne Renovation Generation has also created the ‘Larne’ yellow frame were you can take a photograph with the backdrop of Chaine Memorial behind, along with the Big Blue Chair here.

Along the seafront you can also take some pictures across to the wonderful Chaine Memorial and beach or out to the sea and Larne Harbour.

The ‘Highway to Health’ is a  signed walk starting at Larne Leisure Centre, along the Promenade, turning back to Glenarm Road and circling round again. Dogs to be kept on a lead. Please also do clean up after your dogs on the route and take any rubbish home with you or bin it in the bins along the way.

This urban walk is part of the Highway to Health Scheme – a simple and innovative scheme which aims to encourage people of all ages to walk for leisure and good health. It uses pole signs at one kilometre intervals on an established route.

This walk is measured from Larne Leisure Centre and is 3.72 km. It proceeds along the Promenade, turns back into the town along Glenarm Road and returns to the Leisure Centre via Curran Road, Bay Road and Chaine Memorial Road.
You can also continue after Waterloo bay on up to the Black Arch, through Drains Bay and up into Carnfunnock Park for a further walk along the same route. This walk is around 3.3 miles.
