Sandy Bay
Sandy Bay is a great starting point for a walk along Larne Promenade. Steeped in History, you can view the Chaine Memorial Tower, and fountain on the seafront, search in the rock pools for sea animals when the tide is out and adventure on the beach. There’s a fantastic grassy area just before the beach at Sandy Bay, a great place to sit and watch the sea using the benches or bring a blanket for a picnic. It’s also a great place to wildlife and bird spot.
Refreshments are available nearby a short walk away in the Prom Café at the Leisure Centre. Toilets are also available in the Larne Leisure Centre.
From here you can take a walk up along the Promenade, adventure up the Snake Path to the Town Park, down through Chaine Park to Waterloo Bay to fossil hunt and back down the Promenade.
There is ample parking available nearby in the Promenade Car Park or behind at Larne Leisure Centre. Be mindful of local residents while visiting and stay clear of driveways.
